Mekhi Gardner

North Star Intern

Mekhi Gardner (he/him) was born and raised in Portland. Currently a junior at De La Salle North Catholic High School, Mekhi is passionate about encouraging civic engagement and political literacy. As part of North Star’s team, he supports events and assists with research projects. 

Mekhi intends to become a physician and is interested in a career that combines public health, public policy, and patient care. He has interned with the Multnomah County Health Department and worked as a volunteer research assistant at Oregon Health and Science University; he also serves on the Youth Data Council affiliated with the Oregon Health Authority. Outside of professional activities, Mekhi can be found blogging, cooking, or participating in sports.
